Privacy Policy

Abilene appliance repair repairs appliances for homes and businesses in Abilene, Texas, and the surrounding area. This page explains what information we collect when you visit our website, call us, or ask us to come fix something, and what we actually do with it. We tried to write it the way we’d explain it to a customer standing in our kitchen, not the way a lawyer would explain it in a courtroom.

We don’t use your information to build a profile on you for advertising purposes, and we don’t sell it. More on that below.

What Information We Collect

What information do you collect when I call or fill out a form?

When you call us, request a quote, or fill out a form on our site, we typically collect your name, phone number, email address, home or business address, and a description of the appliance problem you’re having. If you text us, we keep a record of that conversation too, the same way any business phone line would.

If you just browse the site without contacting us, we collect basic technical information automatically, like your general location (city-level, not your exact address), the device and browser you’re using, and which pages you visited. This comes from standard website analytics tools, not from anything you type in.

How We Use Your Information

We use what you give us to do exactly what you’d expect: schedule your repair, call or text you back, send you a quote, and keep a record in case you need a follow-up visit or want to make a warranty claim later. We also use it to send you a review request after a completed job, and, if you’ve agreed to it, occasional updates like seasonal maintenance reminders.

Do You Share My Information With Anyone?

Do you sell or share my information with other companies?
We don’t sell your personal information, full stop. We do share it with a small number of service providers who help us actually run the business, for example:

  • Our SMS/text messaging provider, so we can send appointment confirmations and review requests
  • Payment processors, if you pay online or by card
  • Google Analytics and similar tools, which help us understand how people use our site

Each of these providers only gets the information they need to do their specific job, and they’re not allowed to use it for their own marketing. We may also share information if we’re legally required to, for example in response to a subpoena or a legitimate law enforcement request.

Text Messages and Phone Calls

Can I opt out of text messages from you? Yes, any time. If we text you, you can reply “STOP” and we’ll stop texting you going forward, or you can ask us directly on your next call. Message and data rates may apply based on your phone carrier. We only text customers who’ve given us their number through a call, form submission, or an in-person visit, and we don’t sell or share your phone number with outside marketing companies.

Cookies and Website Analytics

Does your website use cookies? Yes, in the ordinary way most small business websites do. Cookies help the site remember basic things, like whether you’ve already seen a popup, and they let us see general traffic patterns through tools like Google Analytics, so we know which pages are actually useful to people. You can turn off cookies in your browser settings if you’d prefer, though some site features may not work as smoothly without them.

We don’t use cookies to track you across other unrelated websites, and we don’t run retargeting ad campaigns that follow you around the internet after you visit our site. [Update this section if that changes — for example, if you start running Google or Meta ad campaigns with pixel tracking, this needs to be disclosed here.]

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep customer contact and job history for as long as it’s useful for warranty claims, repeat service, and our own business records, generally a few years. If you’d like us to delete your information sooner, you can ask, and we’ll do so unless we’re required to keep certain records for tax or legal purposes.

Your Privacy Rights

Do I have the right to see or delete the information you have about me? If you’re a Texas resident, you have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, including the right to ask what information we have about you, request a correction, or request deletion. If you’re a California resident, similar rights apply under California privacy law. To make any of these requests, just contact us using the information below, and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

How We Protect Your Information

We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, including limiting who on our team has access to customer records and using reputable, secure third-party software for scheduling, invoicing, and payments rather than storing sensitive data ourselves. No website or business can guarantee perfect security, but we don’t treat this casually.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we collect or use information in a meaningful way, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top. We’d encourage checking back occasionally, especially if it’s been a while since your last repair with us.
